spiritualinspiration:

As believers in Jesus, we are called to be His ambassadors or representatives in the earth. In the natural, ambassadors are privileged. They are diplomats with the highest rank. They walk in the authority of the name of the one who sent them.

As God’s ambassadors on this earth, we walk in His power and authority. We are to promote relationship with Him. The Bible also calls us “ministers of reconciliation,” which means we are the ones to bring the message of hope in Jesus to the world. When you see yourself as God’s ambassador, it will change the way you think. It will change the way you act. It will change the way you approach people.

Today, remember, that you are a representative of Almighty God. Look for ways to promote relationship with Him. Speak words of healing that will draw people. Show kindness because it’s His kindness that leads people to repentance. Look for ways to bless others as we work together to build His kingdom.

Tips for the Incoming Freshmen of UST-CFAD

dear—marion:

(Here, is an updated list from Stef de Guzman’s)

image

(c) owner

  1. Pumasok sa first day! So you’d get to meet your blockmates. Pumasok din sa first week so you’d get to meet more people like from other blocks and ‘yung higher batch. Sobrang friendly ng mga tao sa CFAD. Ibang klase ‘pag may circle of friends ka sa Beato. Promise.
  2. Reg form! This will serve as your identification habang wala pang i.d pero if ever na makuha niyo man ‘yung i.d niyo agad, well, dalhin niyo parin just in case hingiin ng mga prof para pirmahan.
  3. If ever na wala pa kayong uniform, allowed ka pa magcivilian sa first week of classes.
  4. Don’t miss the first meetings with your professors. That’s when they give you the requirements. Madaming binibili ‘pag first year.
  5. Take note of the rules your professors will give you on the first meeting. Say ‘yung ilang number of absences and lates ang allowed sa subject niya. Take it seriously. Pagsisisihan mo.
  6. Make a good impression sa profs. Makinig at ‘wag na magmarunong. Kahit ga’no ka kagaling, sa kanila parin nakasalalay grades mo.
  7. ‘Wag pe-petiks petiks. Always aim for the highest! Bilang CFAD students, hindi tayo nagsesettle for mediocrity.
Materials. Okay, you’re welcome.
  11. Plaster! (Isa sa mga kailangan sa MAT) Base on our experiences, ‘wag kayong bibili sa Joli’s. Basta ‘wag.
  12. Tehcniques class. This is held OD (outdoors). Makikita niyo ‘yan sa reg form. Sobrang chill ng klaseng ‘to.
May grade ‘yan!
  14. Elevators. Matuto kang pumila.
  16. ‘Wag mag-cram at procrastinate pero hindi ko rin alam kung ba’t ko pa ‘to nilagay sa tips eh lahat naman kami ginagawa ‘to. Pero depende sa inyo.
  19. 3J’s!!!! Joyce’s, Jomar’s and Joli’s (located in P.Noval).
Matagal pa fashion show sa CFAD.
  31. Be yourself. Never try to be someone you’re not. Also make a good impression sa lahat. They are the people you’ll be seeing for the next three years.

Good luck, Freshies. Have fun!

UST-CFAD freshies like me, BASA. HAHAHA. :bd

CHAPTER I

obsoleteexistence:

Let me tell you about love at first sight. It doesn’t exist… a perfect love story? That doesn’t exist either. But that doesn’t mean you can’t have an amazing love life.

Take me for example…

I met this girl when we were in 5th grade; she was the prettiest girl in class. She had long black hair, light complexion, blue eyes and the cutest smile I have ever seen in my life. I had a huge crush on her. I still remember what I first said to her.

"Invincible, nakakatawang salita yan," I said. See, at the time, I was experiencing what people call the Baader-Meinhof phenomenon, it’s when you encounter a word too much, it starts to sound weird and it seems to you that it’s not a real word. Of course, like any normal person would, she was confused by my randomness. As the days passed, I actually got a bit closer to her; I did all these small talks and found out her name, the prettiest name you could ever imagine.

"Emilia Reed, ikaw?" she said, wearing that cute smile I mentioned earlier.

I introduced myself, of course. Funny thing, her name sounded too foreign so I asked her about it, turns out she’s half-British, half-Filipino but her accent is American English due to having lived in the US for the majority of her childhood. We talked about what we wanted to be when we grow older, I told her that I wanted to become a lawyer; she told me she wanted to become a physicist. We were both just 10 years old at the time so, as you may expect, it wasn’t anything serious. I even told her that I liked her in front of the class. They teased us until the end of the year and I didn’t care one bit. That’s how innocent we were back then. 5th grade ended and I thought it was just another year. I never expected that Emilia — or Emily, as I like to call her — would move back to the US for the rest of her high school.

I never heard from her again, I never saw her again, I even tried searching her name on Facebook but it just wouldn’t come up. Eventually, I forgot all about her. I focused on my 6th grade, another well-spent year for me as I graduated with flying colors, top 1 overall. People say that the smallest events in your life could lead up to the bigger ones so make sure they count; and it was true, I met a girl in high school. Her name? Tracy McConnell, I could never forget her name.
